PRAY OVER THIS
“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:18
PONDER THIS
Was Jesus’ death for sin absolute? Of course, it was. When He died on the cross, the Bible says in 1 John 2:2, “And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.” Jesus died for the whole world. Is the whole world saved? Of course not. Was His death absolute? It was, but it’s only good to those who appropriate it. If you don’t appropriate it, it won’t do you any good. In order to receive the saving work of Jesus, we must place our belief in His finished work on the cross.
A person doesn’t go to Hell because of his or her sins; those sins have been paid for. People go to Hell because they do not appropriate what has already been done.
Have you placed your faith in Jesus and His payment for your sin on the cross?
According to today’s verse, what is God’s part in salvation and what is man’s part?
PRACTICE THIS
Share about the work of Christ with people close to you today. Invite them to receive what He has done for them.
