If You Could Ask The Dead

The loss of a loved one is devastating.

The hurt for those left behind is so deep that it's leaves us inconsolable.

God's powerful word gives us comfort but it also recognizes the deep hurt.

There is a thought that keeps coming to my heart to share.

If you could ask the dead saved by grace who have died if they wanted to come back.

I feel sure their answer would be no.

We are eagerly waiting for Christ to return.

So to leave here, even in death would be our desire.

We have put our faith in Christ.

But to those who have denied Christ and His ability to save the lost, their answer would be yes because they are eternally lost.

Satan has blinded their heart.

Death for them will be eternal separation from God.

Life here is a fleeting moment.

Our hope is Christ alone.

Repent, ask for mercy.

Where is your hope?

2 Corinthians 4:3-4

[3] And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. [4] In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Revelation 21:4

[4] He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Colossians 2:13-14

[13] And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, [14] by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

2 Corinthians 5:21

[21] For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

[16] So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. [17] For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, [18] as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 5:6-11

[6] So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, [7] for we walk by faith, not by sight. [8] Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. [9] So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. [10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

[11] Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.
