PRAY OVER THIS
“As you do not know what is the way of the wind, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of God who makes everything. In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand; for you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” Ecclesiastes 11:5-6
PONDER THIS
There are some things we don’t know. How do we know the mind of the Spirit? Who knows the ways of God any more than we understand how a baby is formed in its mother’s womb? There are some mysteries in life that are under the sovereign control of Almighty God, and therefore, you must trust Him. You have to say, “Lord, I just look to You. I realize I’ve got to make investments. I realize that I must prepare. I realize that I must be willing to venture, but after I’ve done all that, who knows what’s going to happen. So, Lord, I trust You.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” People are so uptight because they’re worried about their finances. You don’t have to live in that bondage. You can come to Him and say, “Lord, it’s in Your hands. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know you, Lord, and I know that You love me.” You don’t have to know the exact way that He will provide, but you can trust that He will provide when you follow Him.
What are some things you have entrusted to God? What are some things you have not entrusted to God?
Have you seen an example of trusting God with the unknown? What was that like? What did you learn from that experience?
PRACTICE THIS
Talk to God about the areas in which you struggle to trust Him. Surrender your life, possessions, and finances to Him.
