PRAY OVER THIS
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
PONDER THIS
I remember hearing a story long ago about a great theologian who was lecturing at a seminary. There was a question-and-answer session, and the people were asking him deep convoluted questions about theology. Then, one student said to him, “Sir, what is the greatest theological truth you know?” The man paused for a while and thought, and then he said, “The greatest truth that I know is this: Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”
That is the simplicity of the mustard seed (Matthew 17:20). It is small but so strong. Jesus said faith like a grain of mustard seed can move mountains. A mustard seed is fiery and pungent. That small mustard seed may be considered insignificant in many ways, but it holds so much strength. We need to seek that kind of faith. Hold on to those simple truths of the Gospel that have the power to change lives.
What are some small truths of the Gospel that have made a profound impact on you?
How can you remember the power in the small truths of the Gospel daily?
