We have God's convicting word, is that enough? Can you believe in someone that you have never seen?
Matt.16:4
An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed.
We are the same today as the people of the OT. We want miracles so we can see that God is who He says He is! The better way is to prepare the way for God to show you who He is. You must read His Word. You must pray for help, humbly ask for a Savior to cleanse your sinful nature and create in you a new man, based on faith and God's power that He will do what He says! We are a perverse and hardened generation who thinks of self and to heck with everybody else! The more stuff we can get, the better. Never mind your neighbor being in distress, get more stuff. Never mind the sick person who could use your help, get more stuff.
We who follow Christ believe already because of God's Word.
John 20:29
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
1 Peter 1:8
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy
Matt.13:6
But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear
Our testimony of faith....
1 John 5:11-12
11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
Father, forgive foolish man. Teach us to look to You for answers, to rely on You for what is right and holy before You and to love one another as You first loved us. Amen
