Restore, Do Not Destroy

BIBLE MEDITATION

“Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted” Galatians 6:1

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT

Have you ever noticed that sometimes when a new convert comes down the aisle, especially if he’s been a notorious sinner, everybody watches him like a hawk? Well, the first thing you know, if he slips back into his old world, so many times the Christians say, “Uh huh, just as I thought. Look at him; look how he failed.” And rather than helping him, it seems as though they put their heel on his head and push him down further into the mud. Someone has said the Christian army is the only army in the world that shoots its wounded.

ACTION POINT

We are not to criticize. We’re to help, to lift, and to boost our fellow believers. “Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another” is the command we should obey. We must uphold one another in prayer.
