PRAY OVER THIS
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
PONDER THIS
We hear people say, “love is blind,” but love isn’t blind. Love sees more, but the difference is that we still forgive. Love forgives seventy times seven. Love does not give a person what he or she deserves; it gives a person what he or she needs.
A little girl was heard praying, “Lord, make all the bad people good and make all the good people nice.” Wouldn’t it be great if all the good people were nice? Love enables you to be patient; it’s long-suffering. Love enables you to be kind, and love enables you not to envy. Do you want to take a test and see whether or not you’re an envious person? Do you rejoice in the success of other people? I’m not talking about the success of somebody who is in a completely different field or social circle than you. I’m talking about one of your peers. Can you rejoice when somebody else has success? Do you cringe when somebody else is praised? If you do, dear friend, you need to load up on love.
When has someone loved you when you did not expect it?
Who do you envy or struggle to love?
PRACTICE THIS
Extend Christ’s love to someone who is difficult for you to love.
