PRAY OVER THIS
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” Titus 2:11-14
PONDER THIS
God’s grace leads Him to give to us where there is no merit. God’s grace leads Him to give to us when there are many demerits. And God’s grace leads Him to give at great cost to Himself. Anybody, any place, any time, no matter how wicked or how vile, can come to Him in repentance and faith and be gloriously, instantaneously, radically, dramatically, and eternally saved by His grace. There is not one thing to earn, but there is much to learn.
Our passage says, “For the grace of God . . . has appeared to all men, teaching us” how to live “soberly, righteously, and godly in” this present world. The devil does not want you to hear the message of grace. But if he cannot deny grace, he will try to distort grace. He would have you believe that after you have received grace, it doesn’t make any difference how you live. Grace does more than free us from sin; it frees us to live for God and follow His Son Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.
What are some things that are different about your life since you became a Christian? What things in your life are the same? What still needs to change?
Who do you know that needs the grace of God?
