What Does God Expect From Me Part 2

Act justly!

Love Mercy!

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?  - Micah 6:8

Look for opportunities to show mercy or kindness.

Mercy - Greek word, Eleos - to show compassion - loving kindness - passion from the heart

Grace - receiving what you don't deserve
Heaven - salvation

Mercy - not receiving what you do deserve
Judgement - Hell - Discipline

God's covenant with you!

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. - Revelation 21:3

And you shall be my people, and I will be your God."  - Jeremiah 30:22

Mercy and grace from God changes you!
You are free indeed!

Two practical reasons to love mercy
1. What goes around comes around.
Remember life happens, hurts, addictions, job loss, deaths, sickness and a kind word heals.

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. - Matthew 5:7

and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.  - Matthew 6:12

12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty.
13 For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. - James 2:12-13

A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself.  - Proverbs 11:17

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.  - Proverbs 3:27

2. Life is too brief not to make a difference.

What is your priority in life?
Is it you or others?
You are a walking Testament of Christ.
See - Act - Give

Jesus healed those in need.
Jesus ate with Zacchaeus the tax collector who was despised by everyone.
Jesus set the demon possessed man free.
Jesus spoke the words of life to the woman at the well.
Jesus loved mercy!

25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
26 He said to him, "What is written in the Law? How do you read it?"
27 And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
28 And he said to him, "You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live."
29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
30 Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side.
32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.
34 He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
35 And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.'
36 Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?"
37 He said, "The one who showed him mercy." And Jesus said to him, "You go, and do likewise." - Luke 10:25-37
