God Will Give You Rest

BIBLE MEDITATION

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT

I’ve heard it said so many times that it’s hard to be a Christian. Where did you get that? You didn’t get it out of the Word of God. It’s not hard to be a Christian.

Listen, the Bible says that “the way of the transgressor is hard” (Proverbs 13:15), but it’s not hard to be a Christian. I’m having a wonderful time serving the Lord Jesus.

You say, “You mean there’s no suffering?” There’s suffering in this world whether you’re saved or lost. You’re not going to get out unbent, unbloodied, or unbowed. But I want to tell you, there is joy in the Lord Jesus Christ; and Jesus is the One who makes the sufferings of this life worth it all.

ACTION POINT

If you are struggling and straining today to “lead the Christian life,” then something is out of whack. Jesus said, “I will give you rest.” Come to Him right now in humility and lay down the heavy burden.

Living A Life In Christ In A Cynical Society

13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
14 Let all that you do be done in love.
15 Now I urge you, brothers-you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints-
16 be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer.
17 I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence,
18 for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people. - 1 Corinthians 16:13-18

Resurrection brings not only new life but forgiveness.
God should have given up on believers.
Live a life victorious to Christ.
We have refreshment or rest in Christ.
We are sanctified in Christ.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.- Matthew 11:28

Vigilance
Never give up.
Watch.
Stand fast.
Stand firm.
Guard the doctrine of God.
Never compromise the word of God.
Pray to God.

Relationships must have passion.
Your heart has to be changed.
Christ will change your heart.
Unconditional love through Christ.

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

We need the body of Christ.
We need revival.
We stand together.
Refresh us again, Lord.

Resting Tomorrow or Borrowing Trouble?

BIBLE MEDITATION:
“Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.” Psalm 116:7

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
I heard of a woman who woke up her husband because she thought she heard a burglar downstairs. He went down with a flashlight and was shining it around. Sure enough, there was a burglar in their home. He said, “Hold it right there. I’ve got a gun on you.”

He picked up the phone and dialed the police. “And another thing,” he said, “Before you go, I want my wife to come down here and meet you. She’s been looking for you for 24 years.”

A lot of people are that way. They borrow trouble by anticipating or worrying about what may happen. What you need to do is stop looking to yesterday in guilt or anticipating tomorrow with anxiety.

ACTION POINT:
Simply rest in the day the Lord has given you today.
