The Mind Boggling Matter of Being Married 50 Years

Yes, 50 years to the same man!
The survival of the God ordained institution of marriage between 2 hotheads, one male and one female.
Just being male and female presents obstacles of differences in emotions.
We really can only coexist in a long marriage by the grace of God.
Forgiveness is hard but without it your marriage can't survive.
Just keep in mind that God has forgiven you through the mercy of Christ and His death and resurrection!
Jealousy is a big no no!
That's hard too but jealousy is just another word for being possessive.
That stifles a marriage!
Christ first!
Each other second!
Faith in God's ability to hold you two together is what you cling too.

28 In the resurrection, therefore, of the seven, whose wife will she be? For they all had her."
29 But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
31 And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God:
32 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not God of the dead, but of the living." - Matthew 22:28-32

34 And Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage,
35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage,
36 for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. - Luke 20:34-36

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.  - Genesis 1:27

20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him.
21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
22 And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.
23 Then the man said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. - Genesis 2:20-24

22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior.
24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church,
30 because we are members of his body.
31 "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh."
32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.
33 However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. - Ephesians 5:22-33

Lord, forgive us when we fail.  Thank You for mercy. Bless the rest of our days together. Let us share You with the lost. Deliver us from Satan and all his evil schemes, physical and spiritual. We know You alone are able. Give us faith, boldness, and a will to be Your servant. Amen
