Draw Near to God

Draw near to God.

Study His word.

Set in your mind to strive to be holy.

In our weakness, we will fail.

Oh but all is not lost, there is repentance, the humbling of a crooked heart, knees bent, prayers offered up, followed by sincere prayers begging for a changed direction far far away from sin that leads to destruction.

Because of Christ we can with confidence draw near.

Near to His forgiveness, near to His mercy, and for His glory!

He alone is able!!

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. - Hebrews 4:16

(for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God. - Hebrews 7:19

25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

26 For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

27 He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself.

28 For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever. - Hebrews 7:25-28

6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

9 Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. - James 4:6-10
