1 Thessalonians 1:9-10

[9] For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, [10] and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Acts 13:47-49

[47] For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, 

    “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,

        that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

    [48] And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed. [49] And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region.

1 Timothy 3:16

[16] Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: 

    He was manifested in the flesh,

        vindicated by the Spirit,

    seen by angels,

    proclaimed among the nations,

        believed on in the world,

    taken up in glory.

Isaiah 66:5

    [5] Hear the word of the LORD,

        you who tremble at his word:

    “Your brothers who hate you

        and cast you out for my name’s sake

    have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified,

        that we may see your joy’;

        but it is they who shall be put to shame.
