Joshua 24:14-15
14 "Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.
15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Just as in the days of Joshua, it has been laid before us to choose whom we will serve! Doing so with a cheerful heart and an expectation that God will do what He promises! I will not lie to you as some do! If you follow Christ, life will not be without trials, but the way in which you respond will be based upon Christ and His teaching. It will be an amazing wonder to the lost around you. It will be an encouragement to your brothers and sisters in Christ as you walk in faith. You will not have riches untold but you will have peace that the world can not understand.
Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. With the freedom of religion we have in America, we must stand on God's promise of the return of His Son to claim His chosen people. If you choose to deny God, then His judgement will be just as it will be on all! With the choice to serve God, we have Christ as our intermediary when we sin. You must turn for sin and ask God for forgiveness. Heb.7:17-2817 For it is witnessed of him, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek." 18 For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness 19 (for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God. 20 And it was not without an oath. For those who formerly became priests were made such without an oath, 21 but this one was made a priest with an oath by the one who said to him: "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, 'You are a priest forever.'" 22 This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. 23 The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, 24 but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. 25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermostthose who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. 26 For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. 27 He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself. 28 For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.Lord, only You can change hearts. We who love and server You lift up the lost to You. Help us to teach the world the truth of Your salvation. Amen

Clean in Christ
Acts 10:15 And the voice came to him again a second time, “What God has made clean, do not call common.”
Clarke's Commentary
Luke 5:12-13
12 While he was in one of the cities, there came a man full of leprosy. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, "Lord, if you will, you can make me clean."
13 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, "I will; be clean." And immediately the leprosy left him.
Eph.2:14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
Matt.15:11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”
Clarke's Commentary
What God hath cleansed - God, who made at first the distinction between Jews and Gentiles, has a right to remove it, whenever and by whatever means he pleases: he, therefore, who made the distinction, for wise purposes, between the clean and the unclean, now pronounces all to be clean. He had authority to do the first; he has authority to do the last. God has purposed that the Gentiles shall have the Gospel preached to them: what he therefore has cleansed, "that call not thou common."
There existed a great barrier between Jew and Gentile. The Jews thought the Gentiles unclean and not worthy to receive the gospel. It was their tradition through ceremonial laws to keep the Jews and other nations separate.
We have no such separation! Christ came to save all men! Sinners, through grace and faith, repentance and mercy, He will pardon. We do not know the wonder of grace. We can not understand the workings of Almighty God, the depth of His mercy for those who will follow Jesus as redeemer is far too above the things we can comprehend.
Luke 5:32 I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance."
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
How marvelous is God's word!!! Sinner, bow humbly before Him and ask for forgiveness.
Lord, we as a people, need You. We need Your goodness and mercy. Teach us to be like You and to forgive as You forgive. Open our hearts to the hurting around us. Open our mouths to praise You. Amen

An Opportune Time
Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.
Satan never gives up! He is already defeated by the death of Christ on the cross and His resurrection, but Satan still seeks to destroy. He knows if he can lure you into sin, then you become an ineffective witness for Christ. He is just waiting for an opportune time. But keep faith, Christ has overcome the world.
John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
Our power is the Word of God! We find solace, wisdom, courage, strength and peace, against these words, Satan can not stand and will flee! Before you are tempted to sin, remember what Christ has done for every sinner ever born. He took your place on the cross, you deserved it, He did not. You are guilty and He is not! He is pure and holy but willingly went to suffer in our place in obedience to God.
Christ is due our worship, He alone is worthy! Amen
Luke 4:17-19
17 And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."Ezek.18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.Gal. 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.Rev. 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Water Is Good
When you think of the taste of clean cool water, do you realize that you are among the blessed? Many people groups are without clean water. I am blessed by knowing the Neverthirst Water organization who are led by God and are giving hope to these people groups around the world by digging wells. Our physical bodies must have water to survive. Our souls must have the living waters of Christ for salvation! Water is good!
John 3:5 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.
1 Cor.6:11And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God
Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.'
John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’”
John 4:10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
Lord, by Your power and for Your glory, call those who thirst for an eternal hope that is found in Christ alone! Amen

A Light for Revelation
Luke 2:26-32
26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law,
28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,
29 "Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word;
30 for my eyes have seen your salvation
31 that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."
Luke 2:34-35,40,52
34And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed
35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed."
40 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.
26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law,
28 he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,
29 "Lord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace, according to your word;

35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed."
40 And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favor of God was upon him.
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.
Christ was appointed, by God, to save sinners. The salvation He offers is of God by His divine power.
This precious salvation is offered to all nations.
Matthew 4:16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned."
Acts 13:47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us: "'I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'"
Acts 26:23 that the Christ would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would proclaim light to his own people and to the Gentiles."

And the Walls Came Tumbling Down
Joshua 6:20 So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city.
This is a bible truth about the people of God relying totally on God for victory! The town of Jericho would not bow to it's appointed master, Israel. The people shut themselves up tightly, thinking they were safe in the fortified city. Because of their hardened hearts, God condemned them to destruction. But in that city, there was a faithful one who did not perish.
Heb.11:31 By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.
Joshua 6:25 But Rahab the prostitute and her father's household and all who belonged to her, Joshua saved alive. And she has lived in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
Rahab is listed in the lineage of Christ!
Matt.1:1-18
1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
3 and Judah the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram,
4 and Ram the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse,
6 and Jesse the father of David the king. And David was the father of Solomon by the wife of Uriah,
7 and Solomon the father of Rehoboam, and Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asaph,
8 and Asaph the father of Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah,
9 and Uzziah the father of Jotham, and Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,
10 and Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, and Manasseh the father of Amos, and Amos the father of Josiah,
11 and Josiah the father of Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylon.
12 And after the deportation to Babylon: Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13 and Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, and Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor,
14 and Azor the father of Zadok, and Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud,
15 and Eliud the father of Eleazar, and Eleazar the father of Matthan, and Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 and Jacob the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.
Lord, help us not to remember who we were but who we are in You! Help us to teach repentance that leads to salvation through You. Amen

Belief, Unbelief, Worship
Thank you Pastor David! Our worship of Christ is a reflection of our belief in Christ! When Jesus went to His hometown, the people heard His words, saw His works even still they denied Him worship. What an example of unbelief!
Matt.13:54-58
54 and coming to his hometown he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? 56 And are not all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?" 57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household." 58 And he did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief. No matter your circumstance, Jesus is there! Will you deny Him or will you worship Him? We must reflect His compassion and rely on His resources. Jesus alone is our soul's satisfaction! He meets our needs, He is a greater prophet than Moses and He is the Messianic host. Jesus will use us to meet the needs of others! Will you receive His blessing?Matt.14:14-2114 When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick. 15 Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves." 16 But Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat." 17 They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish." 18 And he said, "Bring them here to me." 19 Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 20 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. 21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.Faith in the face of fear...Jesus is sovereign over you.Jesus is interceding for you.Jesus is present with you.Jesus is strength in you.Jesus is peace around you.Matt.14:24-3324 but the boat by this time was a long way from the land, beaten by the waves, for the wind was against them. 25 And in the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. 26 But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" and they cried out in fear. 27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid." 28 And Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." 29 He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me." 31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."Christ is faithful!Heb.12:1-2 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. And he said, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"Lord, we really don't have a clue as to who You are. Our human mind can not truly grasp Your glory and wonder.
