Remembering Whose You Are

PRAY OVER THIS

“Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth.” Psalm 115:1

PONDER THIS

The name Jehovah is the most sacred, solemn name for God in all of the Old Testament. And yet, it’s not found one time in the New Testament. Do you know why? Because Jesus is our Jehovah. Do you know what the name Jesus means? It means Jehovah saves. And if we are His sheep, and He is our Shepherd, we don’t want to disgrace that name.

A good name is to be chosen over great riches. When I would take my little children to school, each morning I would say, “Daddy loves you. Remember who you are, and remember whose you are.” I believe the Lord would say to His sheep, “Remember who you are. You are My sheep, the people of My pasture; My name is linked to you. I want to lead you in the paths of righteousness for My name’s sake.” We know a good name is important. How much more important is the name of our God? There is in my heart a burning desire to give glory to that name. Do you feel that way?

How do you remind yourself each day who you are and whose you are?

What would it look like to make it a priority to give glory to God’s name every day?

PRACTICE THIS

Create a new step in your daily routine to remind you who you are and whose you are.
